University of Hull - Canham Turner Refurbishment Project

Houlton have handed over the Staff House refurbishment project, now renamed the Canham Turner building, this the latest project in our continued relationship with the University of Hull following the successful handover of Middleton Hall.

Working alongside Houlton to deliver the scheme were Cushman & Wakefield managing the project for the client, structural engineers Mason Clark Associates, mechanical and electrical consultants McWilliam Associates and architects Fuse Studios.

Work was carried out in the following order:-

 1 – Conference Rooms and new Breakout area on 1st floor

 2 – Kingsley Hall (Lindsey Suite) & Corridors

 3 – Rear Offices on 1st floor

 4 – Main Entrance, Servery area, Bronte Bar (Jubilee), Rossetti Dining Room (Myton Hall) & Muse Coffee Bar (Meaux).

Commencing in October 2016 the project was handed over on June 2017 allowing the University to to keep long standing key dates.

The works undertaken included the following

• Demolition & Alteration
• New Mechanical & Electrical Installation, including new audio visual / performance lighting & mechanical cooling
• Plastering Existing Walls
• New Partition Walls and Ceilings
• Existing Toilets Refurb
• New Staff Breakout Area
• Secondary Glazing
• New Soft Floor Finishes
• New Hardwood Feature Wall
• New Internal & External Signage and Graphics
• Complete Redecoration
• New Food Counters and Bar Area
