Tom Winn, a NVQ level 2 year student at Grimsby Institute is gaining valuable experience as a Business Administration Apprentice through working for Houlton on the new Arts & Design Centre currently under construction and also Tommy Pritchett and Jordan Smith, two construction students from Grimsby Institute, pressed home the advantage of their cv’s by bagging a photoshoot to make sure we don’t forget them.

Keith Gilson our Commercial Director gave 70 students a lively talk about what employers seek in apprentice recruits, how best they can stand out in the crowd, and the many and varied opportunities that the industry offers. Awarded under the YORbuild Framework, the Employment and Skills Plan for the £5m Arts & Design Block requires us to provide apprenticeship training and we are actively engaging with students and tutors at the Institute to maximise the potential of the project. Organised by Houlton Business Development Manager Zoe Prescott, Grimsby Institute was the first of three such sessions to be held on the South Bank of the Humber.
