Autumn Notes Sponsorship

Reflecting the diverse nature of our support to local groups, Houlton were one of the main sponsors for Autumn Notes, an evening of celebration of local musical excellence held at the City Hall on Saturday 19th October, featuring The City of Hull Youth Symphony Orchestra and The City of Hull Youth Choir along with the ever popular and internationally acclaimed Maureen Hunter Singers.

The concert 'Autumn Notes' was organised by the Rotary Club of Humberside in collaboration with the Hull Music Service, and aims to support talented young musicians in the Hull area.

The Youth Orchestra consists of string, woodwind, brass and percussion players and plays a wide variety of orchestral music and performs once each term at Hull City Hall and embarks on biennial foreign tours.
The City of Hull Youth Choir consists of soprano, alto, tenor and bass singers. The choir sings a wide variety of music and performs once each term and embarks on foreign tours with the youth orchestra.

P.S. The total amount raised exceeded all expectations, reaching approximately £12,000, and allowing the Music Bursary Scheme to get off to a very good start. It was possible to award 7 bursaries to pupils who are now receiving advanced instrumental tuition which will continue for the rest of their secondary education.
