Santa ‘scales’ the Tower

To mark the start of the festive period and in conjunction with our client the Hull and East Riding Hospitals NHS Trust, Wednesday 11 December 2013 saw the switching on of the Houlton Christmas tree lights above the newly refurbished children’s emergency department.

In the shadow of the tower block, Santa arrived not on his usual sleigh but by ‘mast climber’ to greet the surprised public and building users on his way to help press the big red button.

On the day, Santa was joined by Miss. Laura Burton who works as a play specialist for the emergency department paediatric unit and our Mr. Sean Hunter (Contracts Manager), Construction Division.

As the daylight dimmed and after a short countdown the lights were switched on much to the delight of the passer’s by and the children inside the children’s emergency department

The tree compliments the Christmas lighting display illuminated by the Trust on 7th December 2013  and it can be seen as you pass the North East Elevation of the tower block and we hope you enjoy the very festive feel to the hospital and from all the site teams on the HRI Tower Block project and all at Houlton we wish all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
