Houlton are pleased to have helped local charity Hull Foodbank by providing 11 boxes of biscuits and crisps donated by its client United Biscuits from their factories at Teesside and Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
Sean Hunter, Contracts Manager for Houlton collected and handed over the boxes to Jim Crawley of Hull & East Yorkshire Hospital Trust, who has taken the donation on behalf of Hull Foodbank, for their stalls set up outside hospital restaurants in November.
The charity operates under the umbrella of the Trussell Trust and provides short term relief to people in crisis throught the issuing of food parcels containing a balanced three days' supply of food. Recently, due to the current economic climate we live in, the demand has risen and over the past year Hull Foodbank has fed 1200 people, 350 of which are children.<< Back to News
