Houlton are pleased to have been awarded the contract by Hull City Council to develop a scheme of 7 dwellings on the site of the old Viking pub on Shannon Road in Hull.
We are working currently in the design phase and along with our architects at ERF&I we are developing a scheme of 7 dwellings which will be constructed using an efficient build methodology. The initial designs also have an energy efficient fabric which will exceed thermal building control regulations coupled with a modern gas efficient boiler which will ensure the development is sustainable and affordable for the tenant.
Part of the design phase is engaging with the local community to inform them of the scheme, what impact it will have on their neighbourhood and if necessary advise how they can apply for housing once complete. This process will be undertaken in July followed by a planning submission.
Subject to approval it is planned to be on site from September 2017 with the site ready for occupation in April 2018

New bungalows to be built on former pub site
On the site of the now demolished Viking pub on Shannon Road, Hull City Council with construction partner Houlton, is building seven new bungalows for rent. On Thursday 20 July, the Community Bus will be on-site from 2 – 7pm with information about the development.
The two bedroom bungalows at the development will be built to the Life Time Homes Standard. They have been designed for flexibility allowing for adaptation and space for carers to stay at the bungalows to provide long term care, if required.
As well as having a plan of the development and the bungalow designs on show, representatives from the council and developer will be on the Community Bus and available to answer any questions.
Nominations to rent the bungalows will be through the council’s Homesearch.
