The project involved the construction of a complete new primary school adjacent the original current Edward Heneage School site, followed by demolition of the existing school building.
The new build works comprised the construction of a two storey steel framed primary school with green roof and pile foundations, all ground remediation and external works.
Construction of the new school commenced early December 2010 and iwas handed over in December 2011 after which the majority of the existing school buildings are being demolished and playing fields re-instated.
Following enabling works including ground remediation a total of 222 helical displacement piles were installed down to a depth of 18 metres followed by reinforced concrete pile caps and ground beams.
