Procured via the YORbuild 2 Framework, this negotiated scheme is to provide 58 dwellings for both Council rent and shared ownership.
The Council enacted a CPO to acquire the site which was previously a decaying parade of shops. These were demolished, housing design established and a 64 week build programme that will deliver 30 two bedroom houses for shared ownership and a mixture of 28 two bedroom houses and one and two bedroom apartment for Council rent.
The project, funded through the Housing Revenue Account and Homes England is part of a wider programme to build over 500 new houses and is part of the new Rother Living vehicle, transforming Rotherham and providing new lifestyles, built upon the same principles the town has been built upon for generations, it's important for the people to trust that tits not just a house but a platform where they themselves can build a life.
