A new MKM Anlaby depot - partnering with our principal materials supplier

MKM are our principal materials supply partner – responsible also for the store of goods retained in our yard for the efficient distribution to sites, and best in class service on price and delivery.

Everything about the project is bespoke to meeting MKM’s specification.

An open book process of negotiation led to the award of this £1.1m project, in conjunction with PPH Commercial, the Clients’ Agent.

The new floor space provides 990 sq m at ground floor level and a mezzanine showroom of 270 sq ft. Although a steel framed portal on traditional bases, in a move away from the normal “tin shed” depot extensive use of feature brickwork and curtain walling present a more architectural finish to the building. Reflecting MKM’s desire to market energy efficient installations, the building incorporates air source heat pumps, underfloor heating and roof mounted photo voltaics.

As well as providing their normal materials service, MKM are fitting out the upper mezzanine level to promote their retail sales of upper market bathrooms and kitchens – intending to capitalise on the footfall from the adjacent retail park.
Following MKM’s decant into the new build the old depot was then demolished.
