Woodmansey CE Primary School - Roofing & Refurbishment Project

This roofing and refurbishment project was procured for The East Riding of Yorkshire Council via the Yorbuild2 Framework as a competitive tender.

To ensure all works were completed for the new school year in September, The roofing element of the project was started in June. As the school was live, communication with the school was paramount to ensure we worked around specific school activities such as sports days and exam dates, whilst ensuring the safeguarding of students, staff and visitors. 

The roofing work consisted of the renewal of two pitched roofs,  as well as the installation of an Icopal flat roof system including new skylights.

The internal refurbishment to the main hall was undertaken during the suimmer recess and consisted of the following.

• Stripping out and removal of old lats and plastered ceiling
• Insulating the roof space and re-boarding ceiling
• Damp proofing works
• Plastering
• Electrical works
• Flooring
• Decoration.

The project was completed within the programmed 12 week period ensuring the school had the use of all facilities and Head Teacher, Mrs Bethan Nicholls said "We are really pleased with the workmanship, understanding, care for the job and for the school throughout. Houlton have secured the future of our school for generations to come and it can be admired by all who walk by"
