Flood Defence Works

Flood defence works have been completed to provide upgraded protection at both Rokeby Park and Sutton Park Primary Schools for Hull City Council following the 2007 summer floods in Hull which wreaked havoc to as many as 103 schools.

The project involved constructing a reinforced concrete flood wall approximately 1.5m high to the perimeter of the buildings incorporating flood gates at doorways and adjusting services as required. Work included removal and modification of full height windows, renewal of perimeter paths and fences and addition of anti flood valves to drainage pipes.
