New ‘Blender Satellite Centre’

A new ‘Blender Satellite Centre’ has been developed at an existing refinery site on the South Bank of the Humber in North Lincolnshire.

The new Blender Satellite Centre is located directly adjacent to the existing refinery storage tanks and constructed to high safety standards including blast-proof in the event of any explosion and air-tight in the event of any gas release.

The new building is of single storey construction and comprises a mix of offices, meeting rooms, locker/mess rooms, plant spaces and welfare facilities. The building is approximately 650m².

The external works included new site access road and associated fencing, gates, drainage and lighting; new tarmac car parks, vehicle routes and footpaths; new LPG compound, associated tanker parking area and incorporation of existing hard-standing areas; closing of the existing site access point; new landscaping and planting works; new drainage works; new external lighting; new fencing, gates and boundary treatments and new electricity, water, data and gas services and connection works.

Houlton were selected as the main contractor to construct the new facility by means of a competitive 2-stage Design and Build procurement process

All aspects of the Client’s operations, the operations and activities of the existing refinery site and every aspect of the new development project are governed by the strictest standards of health and safety.
