Travellers Sites

An opportunity arose for Hull City Council to undertake a full refurbishment programme at each of it's traveller sites to improve conditions and reduce ongoing associated maintenance costs. Improvements  include the full refurbishment of all individual utility blocks as well as new boundary treatments and general environmental improvements where possible at each of the sites.

The refurbishment and remodelling involved 70No. single storey Traveller Units on four individual sites. The work briefly comprised the renewal of mechanical and electrical services, replacement of internal and external doors, replacement of windows, renewal of floor finishes, replacement of kitchen and sanitary fittings and full decorations throughout.
Each of these sites remained fully occupied during the refurbishment programme and individual utility blocks were temporarily vacated by residents in order to facilitate works.

The project is a YORbuild Lot 4 scheme.
