We are delighted to announce that Houlton have been appointed as the contractor to carry out the Re-Ordering and Refurbishment works at the Holy Trinity Church, Hull. The Project will be managed on behalf of the Holy Trinity Development Group by Alan Wood and Partners.
The aim of the scheme is to sensitively re-model the internal space to serve the wider community who will be invited in for concerts, performances, exhibitions and banquets, as well as for Christian worship.
The works on the 700 year old Grade I listed building will be undertaken by the Building & Maintenance division over a 34 week programme and include M&E, refurbishing and altering the pews, lifting and laying new floor finishes, the relocation of the font, a new porch on the Nartex entrance as well as refurbishment of the kitchen and toilets.
All work will be carried out whilst the Church is still open to the public and during the year the Church will be given Minster status becoming Hull Minster.
Andrew Kingston, Building & Maintenance Director said of the instruction:
“ Houlton are delighted to be entrusted to work on another key landmark in Hull. We understand the history and significance of Holy Trinity Church to the City and will undertake the project with the sensitivity and respect it demands. We will also look to keep the community engaged with the project by posting regular updates and having viewing portals within the internal hoarding to allow visitors to view progress first hand.”
