We are delighted that the CAMHS project carried out for Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust won the award for Project of the Year at the Design in Mental Health Exhibition & Conference 2021.

Houlton are back in the black, having recovered from a £533,000 loss to deliver a strong profit on lower turnover.

Alan joined the company late October 1987 working on the new ice arena we were building in Hull. He worked for many years with his colleague Charlie Hilton as a team of expert groundworkers. Whilst Charlie moved on Alan has stayed achieving promotion along the way to Site Manager with the company. He retired at the end of July 2021 having worked for nearly 34 years at Houlton’s, he had his 25 year celebration back in 2012 when he was presented with a gift from the company.

From 3 May 2021, every day for a year, at sunrise and sunset, a Vigil (person) will keep watch over Hull from a bespoke wood and glass structure located on top of the Hull College building, facing east and west, overlooking Queen’s Gardens and the William Wilberforce statue at one side, the River Humber, the docks and East Hull on the other. Over the course of the year 730 people will contribute to the collective vigil – a 365 day silent performance – watching over the city.

Houlton are strong advocates of the Apprenticeship scheme and have recognised it's importance from our early trading in the late 1800's.

The decision to set up Houlton's first new Division for over 20 years came after we gained our Q Mark for Installation and Maintenance of Fire Doors which was certified by BM Trada. 

Houlton projects at the Stephen Joseph Theatre and Waleswood Caravan and Camping Park were Winners at the recent 2020 White Rose Awards.
