Andrew Kingston - Managing Director

Andrew joined the company in January 2000 as Head of Building & Maintenance and with success was promoted to Director in 2002. Over a period of sustainable growth, he focussed the Division in terms of its leadership, direction and developed it into a cohesive and professional operation. This Team is now a substantial and significant part of the Houlton business.

Promoted to Joint Managing Director in July 2017 and then Managing Director in August 2018 as part of the companies’ succession planning for the future development of the business in the years ahead. Andrew’s remit  cover all aspects of Houlton’s operational and commercial activities, including the Plant division, with particular focus on business development and marketing.

Andrew is also a Director of Hull Building Safety Group.

He obtained his Quantity Surveying degree at Trent Polytechnic in 1983 and was elected a member of the RICS in 1986. His previous employment reflects his sound commercial knowledge, combined with a wealth of experience gained from working in different fields of the construction industry from main contracting, subcontracting, to private practice, with roles in procurement, surveying, contracts management, and leadership at various levels. He is an enthusiastic and committed team player, customer focused, with a professional outlook and a strong sense of fair play.

Andrew was a Trustee of NAPA for many years and has a strong interest in the performing arts – The Northern Academy of Performing Arts, an educational trust based on Anlaby Road, Hull.
