About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within the construction industry, working within our Fire Division alongside experienced Contracts Managers and Quantity Surveyors on a variety of exciting projects.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Estimator, you will support the commercial team in managing project costs, preparing valuations and ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets and tender documents.
  • Support the measurement and valuation of works, including variations.
  • Prepare and submit interim applications and assist with final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs and report on financial performance.
  • Assist with subcontractor procurement, administration and payment processes.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation.
  • Liaise with site teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Support the Quantity Surveyor in contract administration and commercial reporting.
  • Attend site visits and project meetings as required.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying, Estimating or construction environment is preferred but not essential. Placement or industry experience will be considered.
  • A good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes is preferred.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • A full UK driving licence is preferred.
