Houlton goes west to build £3 million youth project centre

Houlton had reason to celebrate after securing the contract to build the new £3million Orangebox youth facility in Halifax, in the face of strong regional competition.

The construction team commenced works on the landmark site with the demolition of the perimeter wall and excavation of the former car park next to the 18th century Grade 1 listed Piece Hall.
Main construction is now completed and the centre comprises a performance and visual arts space, a studio for drama and dance, music rehearsal rooms, IT suite and roof garden with a vegetable growing area and rooftop skate park.
