Following the launch of a major campaign to raise funds for the new Art and Design Technology Centre at Pocklington School, Houlton were extremely proud to be awarded this exciting project to construct the next stage of the school’s development plan.
Built in two phases and planned for completion in October 2017, the new facility is being constructed using the finest materials to a fantastic unique design to further enhance and complement the existing surroundings of the West Green campus.
Offering new artist studios, workshops and gallery space the new art and design centre will inspire current and future students for many years to come and will offer a creative and interesting backdrop for all.
The enabling works commenced in early August 2016 and the whole of the foundations to phase one were complete for the start of the Autumn term that year. To allow the construction traffic and materials to access the build area, a new site road was constructed to ensure all works are diverted away from the campus activities.
Phase one has now been handed over to allow the school to install their equipment and prepare the teaching areas ready for the new autumn term and we are busy now constructing phase two.
Working closely with the whole team, Houlton very much look forward to the successful completion of the entire scheme in Autumn 2017.
