Houlton has built 71 new affordable homes across Goole, Howden, Skirlaugh and Market Weighton for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council under the YORbuild Framework over a 20 month period.
The houses were designed and constructed to compliment the Council’s existing green credentials and have rainwater harvesting, photo voltaic roof tiles and are extremely well insulated with high air tightness results. Work also included new access roads incorporating footpaths, street lighting, drainage and services.
As a Considerate Constructor our team paid special attention to existing neighbours in the areas around where the new homes were being built and were delighted to receive thanks from nearby residents in Market Weighton where 5 affordable homes were built.
There were also smiles and delight all round for Wentworth Drive Goole, the location for the construction of 38 affordable homes which was undertaken in a surrounding residential area with a school and elderly persons home nearby meaning minimum disturbance was an essential element for our team on site. A vehicle wheel wash was incorporated to prevent vehicles leaving the site contaminating the adjacent estate roads.
A further 12 affordable homes were completed at Woodlands, Goole as well as 3 at Pasture Road, Goole. Another 11 were handed over at Hillfield Drive, Skirlaugh and 2 at Derwent Road, Howden.
