To show our support for the upcoming World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2019, we are holding a series of Workshops & Toolbox Talks for all employees and our supply chain throughout October and November.

A number of Workshops for all staff will be held at our head office on the day. All our operatives will benefit from similar presentations in their Health & Safety Training Days held annually in November. Toolbox Talks are to be held on all our sites for our supply chain teams. These sessions are intended to raise mental health awareness within the construction industry. They will create a safe environment to allow open communication and give the opportunity for people to recognise signs within themselves, colleagues, friends and family. The talks will signpost people toward help, information and support.

It is reported that the UK construction industry population has approximately 2.1m workers; at any one time it is thought that 1 in 6 workers within the UK are experiencing depression, anxiety or stress, this equates to 350,000 workers within our sector that may require some sort of support.

This is the reason we have joined the YORhub initiative in supporting the issue of Mental Health.
